Overview

 

The Human Resources Representative provides administrative support to the Vice President of Human Resources and others within the Human Resources Department as needed. 

Essential Functions

  • Is responsible for practicing, supporting, and promoting Thunder Valley Casino Resort’s “Winning Attitude” company-wide culture and demonstrating AAA Four Diamond Service Standards at all times.
  • Answers phones and greets Team Members and all visitors to the department.
  • Initiates pre-employment drug testing and notifies the department of the results. 
  • Schedules applicants for Tribal Gaming Agency appointments.
  • Sorts and distributes mail.
  • Orders supplies and maintains inventory for the department.
  • Prepares letters and memoranda, and performs other projects as needed for the Vice President of Human Resources.
  • Is responsible for all data entry, including, but not limited to, terminations and new hire information.
  • Generates management reports as needed, including, but not limited to, job codes, work cards, and new hire and status reports.
  • Maintains Team Members' personnel files and termination files.
  • Processes out terminated Team Members, maintain terminated check box.  Mails out checks monthly via certified mail.
  • Ensures the forms supply is fully stocked and available to Team Members as needed.
  • Assists new hire Team Members with paperwork for orientation class (PreShow).
  • Sends necessary information for unemployment claims to Unemployment Representatives.
  • Sends out Tribal Gaming Agency renewal appointment letters.
  • Provides updated information to Tribal Gaming Agency, including, but not limited to, terminations, new hires and transfers.
  • Prepares, copies and assembles materials for training, benefits and other projects as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests, Team Members and management in both written and verbal form.
  • High School diploma required. 
  • Experience working in an office environment preferred.  Experience in a human resources environment is a plus.
  • Strong computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts in order to cover for co-workers and meet the needs of the Department. 
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, and establish priorities effectively.
  • Ability to utilize critical-thinking skills in order to work independently and make decisions without direct supervision.
