Overview

The Scheduler will work collaboratively with departmental Managers, Directors, and VPs to meet operational needs of their respective departments by creating and administering Team Member schedules and other related tasks and functions. He/she will provide “Four Diamond” service to Thunder Valley Team Members by responding to all scheduling requests and inquiries. The Scheduler will continually evaluate and acclimate themselves with the property’s scheduling software, new technologies and other programs as they are developed. Responsibilities must be performed in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures.

Essential Functions

  • Practice, support, and promote Thunder Valley Casino Resort’s “Winning Attitude” company-wide culture and demonstrate AAA Four Diamond service standards at all times.
  • Schedule Team Members as determined by the individual department Director or Manager. Use analytical tools and scheduling software to assist with developing efficient schedules based on business volume.
  • Process Team Member Paid Time Off (PTO) requests, and other special requests.
  • Maintain current Team Member skill lists for each department.
  • Assist Team Members with work schedule related issues in person, telephonically, and via email.
  • Ensure the accurate administration and reporting of Team Members work hours, PTO, unpaid leave time, and days off.
  • Be aware of and consider all legal, contractual, and internal policy obligations with regards to scheduling, including, but not limited to, seniority, shift bids, the collective bargaining agreement, overtime, and the Patient Protection Affordable Care Act.
  • Complete assigned tasks in a timely manner as determined by scheduling guidelines for the property.
  • Review and report any staffing anomalies to management for appropriate evaluation.
  • Ensure the confidentiality of information with regard to any and all business conducted at Thunder Valley Casino Resort, inclusive of Team Members personal information and statistical data.
  • Train new Team Members on the online scheduling system as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a customer service environment.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Computer proficiency is required, including, but not limited to, experience working with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet Explorer.
  • Prior computerized scheduling experience preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and Management in both written and verbal form.
  • Ability to accomplish required tasks while prioritizing additional projects.
  • Ability to work independently and work in a team.
  • Strong multi-tasking skills are required.
  • Open availability, willing to work any time or day, including holidays and weekends.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be able to obtain UAIC Tribal Gaming License.

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols.
  • Ability to lift 20 lbs. with a normal range of motion.
  • Must be able to sit for the duration of shift.
  • Ability to view a computer monitor for duration of shift.
  • Ability to stoop, crouch, and kneel.
  • Manual dexterity to operate job related equipment.
