Overview

The Pit Manager will supervise all Table Games Floor Supervisors and Dealers assigned to his/her respective pit. Responsibilities must be performed in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures. 

Essential Functions

  • Practice, support, and promote Thunder Valley Casino Resort’s "Winning Attitude" company-wide culture and demonstrate AAA Four Diamond service standards at all times. 
  • Safeguard company assets.
  • Ensure departmental policies and procedures are adhered to as directed by the Shift Manager and Assistant Shift Manager.
  • Be responsible for the day-to-day activity that occurs within the pits to which he/she is assigned. Communicate all relevant information pertaining to gaming activity, Team Members’ performance, Guests’ win/loss as defined by threshold requirements, and other proceedings.
  • Address Guest concerns and inquiries and contact the Assistant Shift Manager or Shift Manager for matters of importance.
  • Ensure compliance with Federal Currency Reporting requirements.
  • Exhibit professional behavior and act as a role model for Team Members. 
  • Coach for success and address any behaviors that deviate from Thunder Valley Casino Resort’s policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that Team Members under direct supervision comply with departmental standards such as greeting all Guests that approach the gaming tables, providing a parting salutation upon departure from the tables, adhering to dealing procedures for each specific game type, and monitoring dealers to ensure they are announcing buy-ins in an audible voice so Floor Supervisors are able to record accurate ratings for gaming activity.
  • Maintain direct communication with Surveillance informing them of large buy-ins, cash-outs, table maximums, and any irregularities that could negatively impact the integrity of the gaming tables.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of TGA regulations, Minimum Internal Controls (MICS), System of Internal Controls (SICS), TVCR rules and regulations and gaming regulations specific by game type.
  • Responsible for the cleanliness of the Table Games pits.
  • Be approachable at all times for Guests and Team Members.
  • Reiterate information that is communicated on a daily basis at the pre-shift huddles.
  • Ensure confidentiality of information with regard to all business conducted at Thunder Valley Casino Resort, including Guests’ personal information, statistical data, win/loss, and other private matters.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Eighteen (18) months of experience functioning in the capacity of Dual Rate Pit Manager.
  • Knowledge and compliance of all gaming regulations. 
  • Ability to resolve conflict in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Must have excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and Management in both written and verbal form. 
  • Must be able to work any schedule, including weekends and holidays, based on business demands, including any shift, start time, and days off. 
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be able to obtain UAIC Tribal Gaming License.

 

Physical Requirements:

 

  • Requires normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols. 
  • Visual and auditory ability to identify any unusual or unethical practices that jeopardize the integrity of the game. 
  • Ability to stand for duration of shift.
  • Manual dexterity to use job related equipment.
