Overview

The Table Games Training Manager is responsible for providing the training necessary for all Table Games dealers to successfully deal the various table games offered to Guests of Thunder Valley Casino Resort. The Training Manager will instruct all dealer school participants to deal games efficiently and accurately while providing friendly interaction with all Guests and Team Members. The Training Manager will analyze the skills needs of the Table Games department in order to plan and conduct the necessary training classes for the Table Games department to meet the staffing demands of Thunder Valley’s business volumes. Responsibilities must be performed in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures.

Essential Functions

  • Practice, support, and promote Thunder Valley Casino Resort’s “Winning Attitude” company-wide culture and demonstrate AAA Four Diamond service standards at all times.
  • Conduct interviews and select candidates to be enrolled in new dealer training.
  • Conduct auditions of experienced dealer candidates and make recommendations for hiring.
  • Instruct classes for new dealer candidates with the intention of providing candidates with the skills necessary to deal games efficiently and accurately while following proper game protection procedures.
  • Act as an ambassador for company-wide and department culture and service standards to ensure that Team Members are provided with the necessary communication and service skills to meet the service expectations of Thunder Valley Casino Resort.
  • Develop and motivate Team Members based on mutual respect, trust, and a passion for success.
  • Provide ongoing training for current Table Games Dealers, giving them the opportunity to learn new games or refresh their existing skills.
  • Conduct auditions of dealers at the completion of training classes to determine if they meet the skills required to deal specific games. Log and track successful completion of training on specific games for individual dealers.
  • Evaluate the performance of dealers after completion of training programs to determine if additional training is needed for individual dealers, and share results and feedback with Table Games leadership.
  • Coordinate with the Director of Table Games and the Scheduling Department to analyze skill gaps in the game knowledge of dealers to determine and schedule future training programs.
  • Continually evaluate training programs’ success and recommend modifications to existing programs as needed.
  • Provide operational and supervisory training to Table Games Dealers who are promoted to a dual-rate Floor Supervisor role. Be available to provide on-the-job assistance to support Team Members as they transition into this role.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of new table games, side bets, and bonus games in the market, and develop training courses as needed.
  • Develop and organize training manuals, multimedia visual aids, and other educational material.
  • Be approachable to Team Members and Guests at all times.
  • Ensure the confidentiality of information with regard to any and all business conducted at Thunder Valley Casino Resort.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Five (5) years of experience with casino Table Games operations including one (1) year of experience as a trainer.
  • Knowledge of principles, practices and techniques of adult learning.
  • Knowledge of training techniques.
  • Skills in dealing successfully with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
  • Ability to perform tasks independently without day-to-day supervision.
  • Skills in contributing effectively to the accomplishment of team or individual goals, objectives, and activities.
  • Superior Guest service and Team Member relationship skills.
  • Must be knowledgeable in casino management software and all applications that are utilized in the Table Games Department.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members, and Management in both written and verbal form.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be able to obtain UAIC Tribal Gaming License.

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and, symbols.
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, and twist over a table for up to two (2) hours at a time.
  • Visual and auditory ability to identify any unusual or unethical practices that jeopardize the integrity of various table games.
  • Manual dexterity to shuffle and pitch cards or to work a stick and deal base.
  • Manual dexterity to spin the apparatus wheel in clockwise and counter-clockwise directions.
