  • Overview

    The Assistant Shift Manager will assist the Shift Manager in providing direct oversight for the day-to-day Table Games operations for his/her respective shift. The Assistant Shift Manager will function as Shift Manager when necessary. Responsibilities must be performed in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures.

    Essential Functions

    • Practice, support, and promote Thunder Valley Casino Resort’s "Winning Attitude" company-wide culture and demonstrate AAA Four Diamond service standards at all times. 
    • Provide leadership and oversight, enforcing policies and procedures to guarantee protection of company assets and integrity of games.
    • Ensure staffing levels match business volumes.
    • Adjust game spreads and pricing of games, open and close of games according to business demands.
    • Complete annual performance appraisals for the Team Members on his/her respective shift.
    • Coach Team Members for success and address any inappropriate behavior as well as provide positive feedback. Ensure that the Team Members work history accurately reflects the job performance of the Team Members throughout the year.
    • Work collaboratively with all departments and communicate effectively any/all events that will be conducted on the gaming floor specific to Table Games such as tournaments, drawings, etc.
    • Inform the Shift Manager and/or the Director of Table Games of important information regarding win/loss of players, unusual or suspicious play, and any irregularities that occur during his/her respective shift.
    • Be approachable to Team Members and Guests at all times.
    • Develop and motivate his/her Team based on mutual respect, trust, and a passion for success.
    • Ensure the confidentiality of information with regard to any and all business conducted at TVCR, inclusive of patron’s personal information, statistical data, etc.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Minimum of three (3) years of experience functioning in the capacity of Dual Rate Shift Manager. 
    • Must have knowledge of Title 31 requirements.
    • Knowledge and compliance of all gaming regulations. 
    • Ability to resolve conflict in a professional and courteous manner. 
    • Superior guest service and Team Member relation skills. 
    • Knowledge and compliance of all gaming regulations. 
    • Must have strong computer skills. 
    • Must be knowledgeable in casino management software and all applications that are utilized in the Table Games Department. 
    • Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and Management in both written and verbal form. 
    • Must be able to work any shift including weekends and holidays. 
    • Must be at least 21 years of age.
    • Must be able to obtain UAIC Tribal Gaming License.


    Physical Requirements:

    • Requires normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols. 
    • Visual and auditory ability to identify any unusual or unethical practices that jeopardize the integrity of the game. 
    • Ability to stand for duration of shift.
    • Manual dexterity to use job related equipment.
