  • Overview

    Assistant Room Manager performs responsibilities in accordance with all company standards, policies, and procedures. The position is responsible to communicate with outgoing/incoming manager and other Team Members; to walk floor to evaluate the restaurant, bar, bathroom, kitchens, and storage areas to ensure all areas are cleaned and safe; and to prepare pre-shift, schedule, station diagram, requisition of product, and assist other Team Members, and Managers. He/she should be comfortable working on a computer. The Assistant Room Manager must display outstanding Team & Guest relations.

    Essential Functions

    • Responsible for practicing, supporting, and promoting Thunder Valley Casino’s “Winning Attitude” Company-wide culture and demonstrating Thunder Valley Casino’s 4-Diamond Service Standards at all times.
    • Responsibilities including but not limited to:Assist the Room Manager in the organization and operation of the restaurant, meet financial goals & budgets, maintain proper pars and inventories of all restaurant FOH supply, linen, tableware, menus, etc. Assist to maintain weekly staffing schedules for proper coverage.
    • Communication with outgoing/incoming manager between each shift’s management on operational issues; staffing, business volumes, and services.
    • Walk floor to evaluate the restaurant, bar, kitchen, storage areas, and bathroom meet all standard safety procedure there are no hazardous conditions present. Verify that all stations are clean and orderly.
    • Maintenance check all area includes; evaluate tables and chairs and woodwork for general maintenance and polishing, all lights are operational, linen quantity and quality, all POS, telephones, audio/visual, air conditioning or heating are functional.
    • Check voice mail, read logbook and record and/or act direction/information that requires follow-up. Record information as observed during shift.
    • Forecast labor/projected sales volume for the shift—utilize hourly sales reports, pre-shift and e-mail notification for forecasted sales volumes, special events, and day of the week etc.
    • Prepare pre-shift on clip board including station diagram for servers, breaker-sheets and daily requisition form, team member feedback; give accurate information or find the answer, verify all team members signed the form, fill out management note card.
    • Coordinate with managers working concurrently, which will be responsible to cover each area.
    • Evaluate team members in work stations/side work.
    • Prepare close shift for servers and cashiers at the end of each shift.
    • Update POS with current price for each item and 86’d item for the day. Communicate with on-coming management.
    • Access to Kronos to verify all team members have signed the sign-in/sign-out sheets accurately.
    • Assist fellow Team members and Managements in areas as needed.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
    • Must be certified in a California State approved alcohol awareness course.
    • Must be at least 21 years of age.
    • Ability to obtain / renew all required licenses or certification specifically Tribal Gaming License.
