  • Overview

    The Poker Supervisor will supervise Dealers assigned to their area and ensure that Dealers comply with all established policies and procedures established by Thunder Valley Casino Resort and the Tribal Gaming Agency.  Responsibilities must be performed in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures.

     

    Essential Functions

    • Practice, support, and promote Thunder Valley Casino Resort’s “Winning Attitude” company-wide culture and demonstrate AAA Four Diamond service standards at all times.
    • Adhere to all departmental and TGA policies and procedures based on game specification.
    • Provide direct oversight of Team Members in assigned area of supervision.
    • Ensure that Guests abide by house rules governing the Poker Room, as approved by the Tribal Gaming Agency.
    • Implement departmental policies and procedures.
    • Ensure compliance with federal currency reporting requirements.
    • Respond to and resolve issues and inquiries with internal and external Guests.
    • Inform the Shift Manager of important information regarding any irregularities that occur within area of supervision.
    • Be approachable to Team Members and Guests at all times.
    • Ensure the confidentiality of information with regard to any and all business conducted at Thunder Valley Casino Resort, inclusive of Guest’s personal information, statistical data, and other gaming-related matters. 

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Two (2) years of experience working in all phases of poker operations.
    • One (1) year of poker supervisory experience.
    • Must possess thorough knowledge of day-to-day operations of The Poker Room such as adding names to the Waiting Lists, calling games based on demand and interest, issuing TVCR Player Cards and comps upon request, track all buy-ins for Title 31, handling discrepancies and resolving irregularities that may arise in the game.
    • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong interpersonal skills enabling clear communication with Guests and Team Members.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and Management in both written and verbal form.
    • Must be able to work any shift including weekends and holidays.
    • Must be at least 21 years of age.
    • Must be able to obtain UAIC Tribal Gaming License.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Requires normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols.
    • Visual and auditory ability to identify any unusual or unethical practices that jeopardize the integrity of the game.
    • Ability to stand for duration of shift.
    • Manual dexterity to use job related equipment.
