  • Overview

    This position exists for the effective overall operation of the Engineering Department, in meeting the 24-hour demands of a successful casino operation. Position purpose is to respond to job assignments in the repair, installation, and preventive maintenance of all equipment and related components as directed. Perform responsibilities in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures.

     

    Essential Functions

    • Responsible for practicing, supporting, and promoting Thunder Valley Casino’s "Winning Attitude" Company-wide culture and demonstrating Thunder Valley Casino’s AAA Four Diamond Service Standards at all times.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and Management in both written and verbal form.
    • Works under the supervision of the Supervisor and Director of Facilities.
    • Makes all necessary repairs to maintain the property operations, as well as, specific equipment tailored to their discipline.
    • Responds to all internal and external guest complaints promptly and efficiently to avoid guest inconvenience or discomfort.
    • Becomes thoroughly familiar with all systems throughout the property.
    • Responsible for training less experienced personnel.
    • Maintains all tools and maintenance equipment.
    • Ensures that all established rules, regulations, policies and procedures are strictly adhered to.
    • Performs all other duties, which may be assigned by the Director of Facilities, or any other authorized Supervisors.
    • Formulates bills of material to accomplish assigned tasks.
    • Systematically prepares to assume job assignments ensuring necessary equipment, parts and materials are available and tasks can be accomplished efficiently and safely.
    • Displays knowledge of Safety Data Sheet booklet for assigned area.
    • Displays knowledge of OSHA safety codes regarding chemicals and electrical equipment.
    • Uses and carries job related equipment.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Ability to read and interpret blue prints, schematic drawings, and technical specifications, etc.
    • Senior Engineering Specialist must be proficient ("Journeyman" level specific in two building trades or demonstrate "A Master level in a specific trade, i.e., State Licensed Electrician, Certified Refrigeration Mechanic with all applicable certifications and licenses, or CFC certifications specific training from accredited institutes for that discipline.
    • Must have a valid California driver’s license.
    • Must maintain all licenses and certifications presently held or necessary for specific area of expertise. If state and federal requirements require updating and/or additional requirements, it is the responsibility of the Sr. Engineering Specialist to meet the new requirements.
    • Requires the ability to use and carry job related equipment.
