The Room Service Server is the first to put a face to the Guest contact for the in-room dining experience. The server must project a professional, crisp appearance, be knowledgeable, sincere and efficient in the delivery of the meals, beverages or amenities they are presenting to the Guests. The server must be knowledgeable and prepared to answer Guest questions or give recommendations about the property to enhance a Guest’s visit. The server is responsible for accurately taking Guests orders, answering questions about menu items, and up-selling items to enhance the Guest’s order. The server should also be prepared to follow up on any requests, such as making reservations for the Resort’s restaurants or obtaining items for the room (mini bar items, special occasion cake, flowers, etc.)

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for practicing, supporting, and promoting Thunder Valley Casino’s "Winning Attitude" Company-wide culture and demonstrating Thunder Valley Casino’s AAA Four Diamond Service Standards at all times.
  • Takes Guest’s food and beverage orders over the phone. Inputs the order into the POS system, processes Guest checks following the established procedures and proper tendering of transactions.
  • Delivers orders to Guest rooms. 
  • Follows established internal control procedures for obtaining banks, returning banks and non-cash paperwork drop. Must be compliant with all company cash handling policies and procedures.
  • Follows SOPs and four-diamond standard for delivery, pick-ups and Guest interactions.
  • Assists with the collection of room service trays, tables and other food and beverage items for the Guest rooms, including proper breakdown of trays and tables.
  • Delivers orders to Poker Room, Mingle Bar, Spa and Pool.
  • Follows established side work duties.
  • Busses and resets tables when needed.
  • Keeps work area clean and organized at all times.
  • Answers phones and provides information when needed.
  • Conducts daily check on IRD amenities. Communicates with cooks and Bakery about amenities. Runs reports for Daily Arrivals and Packages Forecast.
  • Follows Company and departmental safety practices to minimize risk to self and others.
  • Follows any and all applicable Company and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Must be certified in a UAIC TGA approved alcohol awareness course.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Ability to obtain / renew all required licenses or certifications, including, but not limited to, Tribal Gaming License.
